2021 Easter Food Drive
On Saturday and Sunday March 26 & 27 our council held another successful Food Drive at the Shop Rite in Chester.
Many thanks to all volunteers who supported the 2021 Knights of Columbus LV Council 10419 Easter Food Drive on Saturday and Sunday. This team stepped up to produce one of the most impressive results I have seen thus far. Attached is a snapshot of the St. Luke staging area from late Sunday afternoon… many bags [not shown] were already in the process of being delivered.
Although times remain uncertain and difficult for many, it did not stop the generosity of our community and contributions were very impressive. Individual contributions ranged from a jar of peanut butter to an entire shopping cart of goods… a heartfelt gratitude went out to everyone, however big or small the contribution.
Below are the preliminary “unaudited” results:
502 TOTAL BAGS FILLED
13 TOTAL HAMS/TURKEYS DONATED
$784 TOTAL MONETARY CONTRIBUTIONS
$600 in gift cards purchased
$175 in cash to be converted into gift cards
$9 remaining in cash, to be carried-forward to our 2021 Thanksgiving Food Drive
The following organizations were served by the Food Drive contributions:
- 38 Robert E. Cole Senior Housing Units
- Long Valley Interfaith Community Assistance Program (CAP)
- Our Lady of the Mountain Food Pantry
- St. Luke Food Pantry
- Catholic Charities Food Pantry of Patterson, NJ
